SUMMARY:Celebrating Value and Talent: Supporting Employees through Stay-at-Work/Return-to-Work Programs
DESCRIPTION:Every employee brings unique value and talents to the workplace. Each year\, millions of U.S. workers experience illness or injury that challenges their ability to work and how they work. Employers can implement stay-at-work/return-to-work (SAW/RTW) strategies and programs to get many of these employees back on the job sooner\, continuing to contribute their talents in the workplace after illness or injury occurs. These strategies help workers who experience an injury or illness to remain at work or return to work by intervening early to provide coordinated health care and employment services. This year’s National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) theme\, “Celebrating Value and Talent\,” highlights the importance of creating workplaces where employees with disabilities can thrive. SAW/RTW programs make this ideal a reality by helping employers retain skilled workers\, including workers with disabilities. \nJoin the Employer Assistance and Resource Network on Disability (EARN) and the Job Accommodation Network (JAN) for this special NDEAM 80th anniversary webinar. Presenters will share strategies and resources to help employers implement effective SAW/RTW programs that celebrate and retain the value and talent of their workforce. \nWhat you will learn: \n– The importance and value of SAW/RTW strategies and programs\n– The role of SAW/RTW strategies in workforce retention\n– How reasonable accommodations can facilitate success for employees and employers\n– Resources that support successful SAW/RTW programs for the workplace \nThe webinar will also feature a live Q&A session with presenters. \nReal-time captioning and ASL interpretation will be provided. Please request any additional accommodations via the registration form. \nMeeting Speakers: \nWendy Strobel Gower\, Development and Dissemination Lead\, EARN; Tracie DeFreitas\, Program Leader and Director of Training and Outreach\, JAN \nREGISTER NOW >>
