Recognizing the need for the EEOC to enhance its data and analytics capabilities, in 2018 the agency created the Office of Enterprise Data and Analytics (OEDA) and began the process of transforming itself into a 21st century data analytics organization. The first action step in this process focuses on modernizing the EEO-1, 3, 4, and 5 data collections, and improving secure access to EEOC data. Over the next few years, a full review of EEOC’s current methods of data collection and reporting, will be conducted with an eye toward identifying innovations and efficiencies that will ease the submission process and streamline reporting while also examining potential enhancements in content. In addition, work has begun to develop an improved secure access system to house the EEOC data and consider new tools to enhance data analysis. This session begins with an overview of the functions of the Office of Enterprise Data and Analytics, reviews features that the EEOC’s survey modernization will examine, discusses the use of a data enclave for optimizing access to secure and privacy protected data for external researchers, and, presents ideas about creating, testing, and implementing a data query and mapping prototype.
